Frisco Teeth Whitening

One of the easiest cosmetic dentistry treatments to look younger involves your teeth. Many people are not aware of how dull, dingy teeth make them look older. Removing the stains from your teeth and whitening them can make you look years younger. This simple procedure is one of the best ways to enhance your appearance without spending lots of money or going through lots of discomfort.

When you come to Parklane Family Dentistry for professional whitening by our Frisco dentist, you will notice the difference right away. In just a little while, your teeth will be shades brighter and whiter. Come with stained, dingy-looking teeth and leave with a sparkling smile. Call us today to learn more!

Stains accumulate on the teeth over the years. The foods you eat and beverages you drink have the cumulative effect of darkening your teeth. Avid tea and coffee drinkers may notice how their favorite beverage stains the inside of the cup or mug. This same discoloration is happening to your teeth. If you drink dark colored wines or juices on a regular basis, the same thing is happening. Even regular consumption of certain dark colored spices can discolor teeth.

This does not mean you need to discontinue consuming your favorite dark foods and beverages. Many of these are good for your health, as they contain substances that ward off a variety of diseases. Enjoy your favorites, and know that you can come to us to restore the brilliance to your teeth when they become dull and stained.

Professional Whitening vs. Over-the-Counter Products

One of the most widely sought-after cosmetic dental treatments is teeth whitening. It comes as no surprise that everyone is capitalizing on this, so over-the-counter products are plentiful in every store. Many of these products can do a good job of whitening your teeth. So, why should you spend time and money in the dental office when you can do the same thing at home?

Unfortunately, not all over the counter whitening products are going to give you the results you seek, and some may actually be harmful to your teeth. There are products that may affect your tooth enamel. When your teeth are whitened in the dental office, you can be assured the whitening agents used are not going to be harmful for your teeth. We let you know what to expect with the process.

Contact Parklane Family Dentistry for an appointment to whiten your teeth. You will love the results, and look younger with a brilliant smile.

Understanding The Teeth Whitening Process

At Parklane Family Dentistry, we provide both in-office teeth whitening and take-home whitening. Both methods of whitening will improve your smile and your self-confidence, but the process for each one is slightly different. Let’s explain the teeth whitening process now, starting with take-home teeth whitening.

Take-home teeth whitening is a good choice if you want to treat yourself at home and on your own schedule. To begin the process, you’ll come to Parklane Family Dentistry for a quick consultation with Dr. Parul Vashisht. At this appointment, she will take molds of your teeth, which will be sent to a dental lab. This lab will craft a set of custom-fitted plastic trays, which you will wear to whiten your teeth.

When your trays arrive at our office in 2-3 weeks, you’ll visit Parklane Family Dentistry to pick them up. Then, Dr. Vashisht will provide you with a set of professional-grade whitening products, and give you directions about how to use these products properly. Most patients whiten their teeth for about 60 minutes per day. Depending on how stained your teeth are, it may take a few weeks to get full results.

In-office whitening is another good option and offers faster results. This makes it a better choice if you want a brighter smile for a special occasion, such as a wedding or a business event. At your appointment, Dr. Vashisht will begin by cleaning your teeth. Then, she will use cheek retractors to keep your tongue, cheeks, and lips away from your gums and teeth.

After this, she will apply a special protectant to your gums, which protects them from the whitener, which can irritate the gums on contact. Once your mouth has been fully prepared, she will apply a powerful peroxide-based whitener to your teeth, and activate it with ultraviolet light. Then, she will rinse away the whitener, and repeat this process until your teeth have reached your desired level of brightness.

The Benefits Of Teeth Whitening

The most obvious advantage of teeth whitening is that it restores the natural, bright appearance of your teeth. Thanks to teeth whitening, you can reverse stains from aging, smoking, consuming coffee and tea, and all other sources, and feel great about your smile once again.

Not only will you feel more confident and happy about your smile, but you also will look younger. Teeth stains can prematurely age you and negatively affect your appearance, so teeth whitening is a good way to get a more youthful appearance.

In addition to this, teeth whitening is cost-effective, especially compared to other treatments like veneers, so you can get a brighter smile with teeth whitening even if you’re on a tight budget.

Your results will last a long time, too. Teeth whitening lasts up to 2 years or more with proper care, and if you get regular teeth whitening touch-ups from Dr. Vashisht at Parklane Family Dentistry, your smile will always look its best.
